I know you have heard of yoga, but have you ever tried it? Yoga has been around for over 5,000 years and it keeps becoming more and more popular. This could very well be because of all of the benefits it offers to your body, mind, and soul. Let’s take a deeper look into 3 of the amazing benefits of yoga.

1. Flexibility

Through practicing yoga regularly, the range of motion in your muscle and joints will increase. This helps in all aspects of life such as your posture, injury prevention, and better performance in everyday activities.
The different asanas (poses) in yoga are meant to stretch every part of the body leaving no muscle behind.
After a long day at work taking a yoga class can be a great way to stretch and unwind which leads right into the next benefit.

In the world we live in today, we are rushing everywhere we go. Never taking time to slow down and do something incredible for our bodies and minds. That’s where yoga comes into play reducing the stresses of life.
Yoga is heavily focused on controlling your breath. During a yoga class, the instructor will cue to lengthen your inhales and exhales.
By slowing down your breathing, your heart rate slows down as well. As a result, you are able to relax and melt that stress away.
Another benefit that comes from lower stress levels is less “emotional eating”. We all have ran to the freezer to grab a tub of ice cream after a long stressful day at work.

As I mentioned previously, the reduced stress levels means less emotional eating which can help with weight loss or weight management.
