Be more productive overnight
It seems like everyone out there is looking to get a little more out of their day and be more productive, and in turn more successful. This notion could feel overwhelming for others. Don’t get me wrong, overhauling your entire life is overwhelming. There are a couple of very simple tips and habits that will make you more productive during the day.
Let’s begin in the mornings and we’ll work our way throughout the day.
First, stop hitting snooze. I’m not even telling you to get up earlier, just get up when your alarm goes off the first time. Hitting snooze is putting off the inevitable and interrupts your REM cycle. Just as you are beginning to fall back to sleep a blaring alarm jolts you awake again. You’ll feel better if you don’t allow yourself to fall back in and out of sleep for thirty minutes. I know people that will hit the snooze button four or five times. Just give it a try, force yourself out of bed after your alarm goes off the first time.
If you do this one thing you’re on your way to success.
Next, make a list of things you absolutely need to accomplish in one day. Don’t go overboard and don’t be overly ambitious. Three or four tasks that you really want to accomplish should be on the list. You’ll feel accomplished throughout the day as you check things off.
Avoid too much sugar. Sugar may jolt you awake for a few short minutes but the crash lasts much longer. Just going about your regular day is exhausting enough. Don’t add the extra lag that sugar creates. I’m not guaranteeing that you won’t be tired but the dragging, feeling that you can’t stay awake is sure to subside. Save the dessert for dessert time and you’ll be more productive and successful throughout the day.
Okay, so you’ve made it through the day and you’re feeling more and more accomplished now here’s what you should do by the end of the day.
You’ve made it through your list and you’re feeling good but now all you want to do is head to bed with some ice cream and Netflix. Wait, you’ve got one more task ahead of you that will have you convinced after you see how much times it saves you. Get ready for your day the night before. Lay out your clothes. This will save you tons of time in the morning. Figure out what you’re doing for breakfast the night before as well. If you make coffee every morning make sure you’re travel mug is clean and ready to go. I know you may not want to do these tasks the night before but I promise that you will be a better person in the morning for it! Good luck with these tips and becoming a more successful person all around.
